Paris Fashion Week Goes Virtual During Pandemic Once More

While a new coronavirus variant threatens to ravage Europe once again, fashion councils in fashion capitals have released schedules for their own shows. Although this idea was adopted last year, by which shows turned into online visual presentations due to lockdowns and health preservation, it is anticipated that this year will be no exception. Fashion week goes virtual on digital platforms in 2021!

The Fédération de la haute couture et de la mode (FHCM) released a calendar for its shows for 2021:

Men (Fall/Winter 2021-2022) from Jan. 19 to 24;

Haute Couture from Jan. 25 to 28;

Women from March 1 to 9;

Men from June 22 to 27;

Haute Couture from July 4 to July 8;

Women from Sept. 27 to Oct. 5.

Here are some of the names and brands presenting this year virtually:

Issey Miyake
Louis Vuitton
Celine
Yohji Yamamoto
Dries van Noten
Dior
Loewe
Hermes
Lemaire
Jil Sander
Emmanuel Ungaro.

Some designers have taken the opportunity to do something different and that’s where virtual fashion week has real potential. Instead of pretending 2020 hasn’t happened and 2021 isn’t as bad, designers are trying to keep up with the constant changes and battles of this Covid era.
Hoping to see some special, creative and innovative designs… Stay tuned!
